Now this is a car!
The Holden Special Vehicles VL SS Group A SV, aka. Walky, was a limited production homologation racecar produced by Holden's performance vehicles department, HSV in Clayton Victoria.
It was HSV's debut model after Holden cut ties with the proceeding Holden Dealership Team (HDT), and has become an icon of Australian automotive manufacturing.
Based on the VL series Holden Commodore, the Commodore was shipped to HSV having only the Panorama Silver Paintwork and lack of some standard equipment to determine their future, HSV then removed any further pieces and built the car up to spec by hand.
There were initially 500 Group As slated for production, but due to demand, was extended by 250 to a total of 750, that 250 vehicle extension proved to be a bad idea, after news of the upcoming VN Commodore-based Group A was leaked.
Specifications:
Syndicate Car
The car we are looking to syndicate was built in 1988 and carries build number 689.
I am told this is a three-owner car.
It comes with full logbooks and dealer folder from new.
The car presents very well with no obvious areas needing attention.
The car has travelled 67,000 kms when viewed.
The car is one of the most iconic Australian built cars of all time and because of that, it surely will only increase in value. Already this car is $70,000 cheaper than another with less KMS and a staggering $435,000 cheaper than a car with virtually no kms on it.
Today there is currently a Ford Falcon GT Phase 111 for sale for $1.1m.
There is no reason why this model car could not reach some of that height!
Before the car is purchased the car will be independently inspected by a recognized HSV model expert.
